Genuine Dexter® 12-1/4" x 5" shoe and lining kits from Southwest Wheel® replace the worn shoes on Dexter 12,000 lb. and 15,000 lb. electric and hydraulic trailer brakes. These OEM kits restore lining contact on 12-1/4" x 5" drums used with Dexter 12K-15K cast or earlier stamped backing plates.

Match the Dexter kit to electric vs. hydraulic, stamped vs. cast backing plate, and left or right side. 12-1/4" x 5" shoes are not interchangeable with 12-1/4" x 3-3/8" or 12-1/4" x 4" shoes. Replace shoes in pairs on the same axle so both wheels apply evenly, then adjust the brakes and burnish the new lining with moderate stops.
