Supersprings

 SuperSprings Installation Guide

For vehicles fitted with leaf spring systems only.

Step 1 Using the Jack on the chassis raise the vehicle so that the back wheel lifts slightly off the ground. The main spring pack will then be at its loosest. Do not jack vehicle up on the differential.

Step 2 If the vehicle's spring pack is located below the axle: Slip SuperSpring over the wheel, or slide it in from behind. Place the widest part of the Stabilizer Spring on the axle, between the U-Bolts. Skip 3.

OR

Step 3 If the vehicle's spring pack is located above the axle: Place the mounting bracket on the existing spring pack before placing the SuperSpring on top. Using the U-bolts supplied attach the mounting bracket to the existing spring pack. This will create the required torsion between the two spring systems (created by the axle in 2a). Once installed, the pressure between the two spring systems will keep the spacers in place. Use 1/4" bolt to secure spring to mounting kit.

Step 4 Ensure that any brake pipes and cables that could be squashed by the blades are out of the way. Attach bolt on front shackle, do not forget both sleeves.

Step 5 Using a C-Clamp or ratchet clamp, pull down the rear shackle and attach bolt on back shackle. Tighten down long bolt - but - DO NOT TIGHTEN TOP BOLTS!!

Step 6 Ensure the shackle does not touch the edge of the second blade. If so move the SuperSpring over slightly.

Step 7 Let down the vehicle and remove jack. If mounting kit was installed, retighten all U-Bolts.

Step 8 Repeat on the other wheel.

Step 9 Remember to ensure brake cables are not touching the SuperSprings blade. Secure them out of the way with the use of nylon ty-wraps.

Step 10 Initially the rear of the vehicle will be approximately 11/2" higher than before. This will settle to approximately 1 inch after a few months of use.
